One billion people, or 15% of the world’s population, live with some form of disability, and the prevalence of disabilities is higher in developing nations.
With the world’s emphasis on creating cities that are clean, green, healthy and playful, cognizance shall be taken to the fact that a large portion of the infrastructure on the planet is not inclusively built, which puts needless obstacles in the way of those who are disabled. When properly planned and executed, infrastructure can enable those with disabilities to participate in the advancement of society and the economy.
People of Determination – The phrase, which refers to people with disabilities in the United Arab Emirates, reflects the country’s values of empowerment and inclusivity. People of determination are not only acknowledged but also honored in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
